What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Cosmetic or Facial Acupuncture is a noninvasive treatment that involves using acupuncture needles to improve acne, wrinkles, scarring, and other skin conditions. Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments are individually customized to address your specific skin needs.
What Can I Expect at my First Session?
During your first cosmetic acupuncture session we dive into your health history and address your skin concerns/needs. The ultimate goal is to treat your overall constitution and skin. I firmly believe we need they go hand and hand. You cannot treat what’s showing up on the outside, without addressing overall health issues. So your first session is all about history, planning, and of course your first facial acupuncture session.
What Happens When Your On the Table?
First we begin with acupuncture needles at your body. The goal is to support your body as well as work on what is showing up externally. Second, we will get straight to the point- the facial points. Tiny needles are placed at various areas of your face. I’ll leave you to rest for some time and let the needles do their work. The third step (and most relaxing) is finishing up with personalized skincare products and a mini massage. Other modalities that may be used during your session include, gua sha, cupping, roller, microneedling, and LED light therapy.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Everyone requires something different. However, consistency is key when you want to see dramatic results. I typically recommend 6-8 sessions weekly for skin conditions less than 6 months old. I recommend 12-16 sessions for skin conditions over 1 year old.
